HA NOI (Biz Hub) - Asian indices closed upwards on April 3 except for those that had shut down for Good Friday.

The Nikkei 225 added 122.29 points to close at 19,034.84, while the Topix Index increased by 9.99 points to end at 1,564.16 in Tokyo.

Their country mate, the Shanghai Composite Index, also increased 38.15 points to close at 3,863.93 in mainland China.

The two bourses in Viet Nam ended higher on the same day. The VN Index added 1 point to close at 547.85, while the HNX also increased 0.33 points to finish at 81.93.

As of the holiday, the Hang Seng Index remained at 25,275.64 in Hong Kong, and the Straits Times Index stayed unchanged at 3,453.75 in Singapore. — VNS
