As many as 300 enterprises from the food and beverages sector in Viet Nam will display their products at the International Food Industry Exhibition 2015 on May 13-16 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Centre.

The event will have 500 stalls of 300 enterprises from the food and beverages sector in Viet Nam and 15 other countries and territories. It is the first and the only nationwide food industry exhibition, sponsored by the government as a National Trade Promotion Programme.

Vietnam FoodExpo will get technical support from Centre for the Promotion of Imports from developing countries, an agency of the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The exhibition is being organised by the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency under the industry and trade ministry, in co-operation with other trade promotion agencies including Korea Trade Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) and Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO).

On the sidelines of the event, visitors can take part in Vietnam Foodtech 2015, which showcases up-to-date technologies in the food processing industry, and also participate in a national conference on Viet Nam's food industry.

The agricultural exports turnover increased by 11.2 per cent to reach US$30.86 billion last year. In addition to large markets such as the United States, the European Union and China, Vietnamese agricultural products and food successfully entered controlled and potential markets including Japan, South Korea, New Zealand and India. — VNS
