Reality show seeking culinary talents starts in June

Season three of the reality show, Top Chef Viet Nam – Culinary Master 2023, with the theme of “Making a Mark for Vietnamese Cuisine on the World’s Table” will broadcast every Monday night on VTV3 channel starting from June 12, 2023.

Organised by TVHub company, in collaboration with the Production Committee of VTV3 entertainment programmes, the show aims to find culinary talents and promote the integration and international reach of Vietnamese cuisine.

At Top Chef Vietnam 2023, 16 professional chefs will participate in challenges that demonstrate their top skills and creativity in creating delicious dishes with the unique qualities ​​of Vietnamese cuisine to conquer the taste buds of the judging panel. Other criteria for evaluation include exquisite flavours, cooking techniques, creative thinking, artistic presentation, authenticity, and a high-class culinary experience.

Accompanying the chefs throughout the journey of seeking, elevating, and innovating Vietnamese cuisine to integrate it with the world’s high-end culinary scene are the main judges, chef Alain Nguyen and chef Luke Nguyen.

The winner of Top Chef Vietnam 2023 will be crowned the Champion of Top Chef Vietnam 2023, receive a prize of VND300 million (US$12,700) and an opportunity to receive a scholarship from prestigious culinary schools, and represent Viet Nam in international culinary competitions.

The Top Chef has been successfully produced and broadcast in 28 countries, garnering global audience admiration for the past 15 years due to its connection between cuisine, ingredients, chefs, food enthusiasts, and the introduction of diverse culinary traditions from around the world.

“This year, I am looking for chefs who truly understand the value of Vietnamese ingredients. Our culinary heritage spans thousands of years, and we have a multitude of ingredients that can be endlessly explored in cooking, which people in foreign countries may not be aware of. And behind each ingredient lies its own story, I believe that is how we can truly succeed,” said chef Alain Nguyen, president of the Food and Beverage Association in HCM City.

In another development, with the approval of the Vietnam Culinary Culture Association (VCCA), TVHub company, the copyright holder of Top Chef Vietnam, has entered into a strategic partnership with the Young Chefs Association of Vietnam (YCA). According to this collaboration, YCA will accompany young chefs in inheriting the essence of Vietnamese culinary arts and showcasing it to the world.

In 2023, Vietnamese cuisine has achieved remarkable global recognition. According to Taste Atlas, Viet Nam has entered the Top 20 list of the most amazing culinary destinations in the world.

The renowned American magazine, Travel & Leisure, has continuously praised Vietnamese cuisine as the epitome of excellence and has recommended international visitors to consider Viet Nam as their first choice for a culinary experience in 2023. — VNS
