HA NOI (Biz Hub) — The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development will organise Craft Village Vietnam 2014 in Cau Giay District, Ha Noi from September 11 to 15.

According to Director of the ministry's Centre for Agricultural Trade Promotion Dao Van Ho, the event, to be held at the Centre of Exhibition, Economics and Commercial Transactions, will have around 300 stalls on display, showcasing products from various crafts nationwide demonstrating craft making skills and introducing exhibits from craft villages from many different regions nationwide.

Traditional craft items on show will include pottery, lacquer ware and bamboo along with rattan, wood sculptures and silk weavings. Paper flowers, silk flowers, silver and gold will also be on display.

Many activities will take place at the fair, including seminars related to preservation and development of Vietnamese craft villages, applying advanced technology in production and handling environment pollution.

There will be space for traditional dishes and performing of special crafts such as sculpture on wood and horn, casting on gold, silver and bronze, making bamboo and rattan products and Dong Ho painting. — VNS
