HA NOI (Biz Hub) — ITE HCM 2014, the International Travel Expo, will be held in HCM City's Saigon Exhibition and Convention Centre (SECC) from September 11 to 13.

The exhibition, with the theme "five countries, one destination", aims to explore potentials, develop tourism services and strengthen co-operation among the Mekong sub-region countries including Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Viet Nam.

More than 200 international travel firms from 19 nations and territories will participate in the event, which will present travel and tourism products, packages and services in the Mekong region and the world.

ITE HCMC 2014 is both a trade and a public event focusing on inbound and outbound tourism. In celebration of its 10th anniversary, the exhibition will introduce and focus on six travel segments, namely leisure tourism, luxury tourism, education tourism, medical tourism, MICE and spa and wellness.

Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Tuan Anh said in a welcome message that ITE HCMC exhibition has established itself as Viet Nam's key annual international tourism event. The exhibition will showcase quality tourism products and services, encourage competitiveness and promote the Mekong sub-regional countries as a single attractive tourism destination.

ITE HCMC has also become a platform for destinations and organisations from the Asia-Pacific region and beyond to promote tourism and business exchange for their respective countries.

Over the last 10 years, the exhibition has successfully established the leisure travel industry in both inbound and outbound tourism. — VNS
