VinGroup’s Vinmec Medical System will apply the latest global model of hospital management and operations at its medical facilities in Viet Nam so that its hospitals meet international standards.
The move is part of a US$1 million agreement signed recently between Vinmec and Japan’s International University of Health and Welfare (IUHW) Kouhoukai.
“Vinmec is one of the strategic partners of IUHW. The new agreement will open up new cooperation opportunities for both sides in providing international standard healthcare services to Vietnamese people,” said IUHW chairman Kuninori Takagi.
“The $1 million investment to apply the advanced hospital management and operation model is one of the important steps Vinmec has taken to realise its target of becoming a leading medical facility in the region and the world,” said Vinmec’s deputy permanent general director Le Thuy Anh.
Vinmec will be IUHW’s first and sole partner in Viet Nam to receive the latest hospital management technology.

Under framework of the agreement, IUHW will assess Vinmec’s operations and management processes and then provide Vinmec with an appropriate process. It will transfer the operation and management technologies step by step and send experts to Viet Nam to supervise and assess the application of the new process at Vinmec Medical System.
In 2017, Vinmec will also send its staff to Japan for training in various fields based on requirements during the application of the new process.
In June 2015, Vinmec International Hospital became the first medical facility in the country to receive accreditation from the Joint Commission International (JCI), a global standard in healthcare.
Vinmec Medical System has also approved a $50 million investment plan for training its doctors and health staff and for human resources development till 2020 so that its professional standards meet international levels. — VNS
