VinGroup partners with Japanese firm to develop logistics

VinGroup and the Japanese global logistics firm, Sagawa Holdings, on November 22 signed a delivery and logistics co-operation agreement to develop and enhance the delivery capability of VinGroup’s fast-growing retail infrastructure.

Under the agreement, the Japanese logistics firm will provide comprehensive logistics solutions for all retail brands of VinGroup, such as VinCommerce, VinDS and VinEco.

The support will be in the form of domestic and international freight services by air, sea or land besides customs and warehouse services.

Sagawa Holdings will assist VinGroup in improving its logistics services by shortening delivery time, boosting service quality, brand and operational management for retail brands and agribusiness, according to international standards.

VinGroup’s retail brands will be able to access modern warehouse system, equipped with advanced warehouse management software. This software helps optimize transport solutions, especially for dry and refrigerated products to preserve the quality of food items, vegetables, as well as reduce transportation cost.

“We believe that comprehensive co-operation with Sagawa Holdings will enhance our retail system’s delivery capability and spur growth of the retail system and agribusiness. It will also gear up our logistics and supply chain to international level,” said VinGroup’s general director, Duong Mai Hoa.

Sagawa Holdings chairman Tadashi Machida confirmed that the company, whose business spans over 220 countries and territories, will be ready to share all the experience and technology with the VinGroup.

The agreement between the two sides is expected to mark a new development in the domestic logistics market and will shore up the VinGroup’s distribution system to global level. — VNS
