Vina Kraft Paper Co Ltd (Vina Kraft) held an opening ceremony yesterday for its second paper and packaging plant in the My Phuoc 3 Industrial Zone in Binh Duong Province.
With the addition of the second plant, the company’s total production capacity will be 500,000 tonnes per annum, making it the largest and most advanced producer of paper and paper packaging in Viet Nam.
The new plant uses state-of-the-art machinery and green, environmentally friendly technologies to reduce water and energy consumption.
“With experience and deep-rooted knowledge in the paper and packaging manufacturing industry, Vina Kraft is capable of producing a large variety of high-quality packing paper and paper material to meet domestic demand and replace imported paper products in Viet Nam,” said Sangchai Wiriyaumpaiwong, Vina Kraft director general.
The company is a joint venture between Siam Kraft Industry Ltd, a subsidiary of Thailand’s SCG Packaging Public Company Limited, and Japanese Rengo Company Limited, with an initial investment of US$330 million over an area of 380,000 square metres.
SCG is one of Thailand’s leading industrial coporations in paper, pulp, cement and construction material, whereas Rengo is Japan’s major supplier of carton boxes and packaging producer. — VNS
