National carrier Vietnam Airlines will take on lease six new generation Airbus A321neo aircraft from Aviation Capital Group (ACG).

As per the contract signed by both parties recently, the six A321neo aircraft are part of the 20 A321neo units that the carrier plans to hire, Vietnam Airlines said. The airline will receive the aircraft in 2018 and 2019, helping it strengthen its domestic and regional network.

Dương Trí Thành, general director of Vietnam Airlines, said the hiring of the A321 fleet reiterates the carrier’s commitment to offering passengers high-quality service.

The A321neo is the largest member of the A320neo Family and incorporates many innovations including latest generation engines, Sharklet wing tip devices and cabin improvements, which together will deliver up to 20 per cent in fuel savings by 2020. — VNS
