Vietjet will relaunch services linking HCM City with Thailand’s capital city of Bangkok starting from January 21 in a move to further expand its international operations, the airline announced on Monday.
The airline will operate two weekly round trips every Friday and Saturday between Tan Son Nhat International Airport and Suvarnabhumi International Airport, Thailand’s largest aviation hub.
Vietjet Vice President Nguyen Thanh Son said the service resumption between the two financial, cultural and travel hubs will also contribute to the countries’ economic recovery while meeting the increasing travel demand of people in the region, especially as the Lunar New Year holidays draw near and the peak travel season in summer follows.
In Thailand, Vietjet currently operates an expansive domestic flight network including services from Bangkok to top business and travel destinations such as Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Phuket, Krabi, Hat Yai, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Surat Thani, Udon Thani, Khon Kae and Ubon Ratchathani in addition to other cross-regional routes.
The airline also resumed a series of international routes connecting Ha Noi/HCM City with Tokyo, Taipei, Seoul and Singapore with one round trip per week each since early this year. In the next phase, it will reopen all entire international flights and look to open new routes to India and Russia.
Vietjet has thoroughly prepared for the resumption of regular international flights with new aviation products and affordable fares to offer its passengers safe and enjoyable flying experiences on new and modern aircraft. Especially, the airline will offer free COVID-19 PCR test packages to all passengers flying internationally from Ha Noi and HCM City. — VNS
