Vietjet is expected to add 10 new-generation aircraft to its modern fleet in the last months of 2024 amid a global aviation market facing shortages and rising travel demand.
This expansion aims to meet its growing demand and serve passengers on both domestic and international routes, Vietjet said in a note.
The new aircraft, expected to be delivered from August 2024, is primarily the latest A321neo ACF model from Airbus. In 2019, Vietjet became the first airline in the world to operate the A321neo ACF (Airbus Cabin Flex).
The A321neo ACF features an improved cabin design, ensuring standard seat dimensions and spacing, offering the best in-flight experience for passengers. These aircraft also provide at least 16 per cent fuel savings, reduce noise by up to 75 per cent and cut emissions by 50 per cent.
Recently, Vietjet signed a contract to purchase 20 new-generation wide-body A330neo (A330-900) aircraft from Airbus, valued at US$7.4 billion. Passengers will soon be able to fly on Vietjet’s new A330neo aircraft on longer, safer, more comfortable and modern routes.

Vietjet transported a total of 13.1 million passengers on 70,154 safe flights in the first half of this year.
During the period, the airline reported consolidated revenue of over VNĐ34 trillion (US$1.35 billion) and consolidated pre-tax profit of over VNĐ1.31 trillion $52.22 million), increasing by 15 per cent and 433 per respectively year-on-year. Profit exceeded 21 per cent of the H1 target.
The airline also paid a total of $146.78 million in direct and indirect taxes and fees in the six months.
With the additional aircraft expected to be delivered by the end of 2024, Vietjet will continue to expand its network in Việt Nam and internationally, reaching new destinations in Australia, India, China, Japan, South Korea, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Laos and Cambodia.
Vietjet said this expansion aims to meet the needs of both locals and tourists, offering joyful and fulfilling flight experiences with a dedicated flight crew. — VNS
