HCM CITY (Biz Hub) — VietJet has released 360,000 tickets for the Lunar New Year (Tet) in order to deal with the expected rise in the number of passengers during the holiday period.

"There is always concern in the build-up to Tet about ticket shortage or that the flight tickets on all routes will cost more," VietJet's business development director Desmond Lin said.

"That's why we have released our first round of tickets for the Tet period now so that customers can book well in advance and avail of our high-quality flights at the best possible price," he said.

In recent years, there has been a spike in the number of Vietnamese people taking holidays during Tet. As a result, VietJet plans to increase its flight frequency accordingly so everyone can "enjoy flying" at this time of the year.

Viet Nam's fastest growing airline will also soon add three of the latest Airbus A320 aircraft to its fleet to facilitate an increase in flight frequency for the holiday period.

Disney comes to Viet Nam

Besides increasing flights and improving the quality of its services, VietJet also promises to provide its passengers attractive entertainment activities, both onboard and outside the aircraft.

Late last week, Mickey Mouse and a host of classic Disney characters arrived at HCM City on a VietJet flight from Singapore, much to the delight of hundreds of children who had gathered in the airport's arrival lounge to catch a glimpse of their favorite cartoon creations.

The costumed characters are all part of the production, "Disney Live! Mickey's Magic Show," which will be held in HCM City from September 24 to 28. In anticipation of this international show, one of VietJet's brand new Airbus aircraft has already been emblazoned with a picture of Mickey Mouse and the trademark Disney logo.

This is the first time that Disney has brought "Mickey's Magic Show" to Viet Nam. The production has been a huge success worldwide and families can look forward to an evening of entertainment with Disney's most famous characters.

VietJet will give away free domestic and international air tickets to members of the audience during the 12 Disney shows that will be held at Hoa Binh Theatre from September 24 to 28. — VNS
