Vietjet launched its newest international route connecting HCM City with Hong Kong on Friday, in a move to meet increasing travel demands by individuals and tourists.

The route, which is operated daily with a flight time of 2 hours 45 minutes per leg, departs daily from HCM City at 2.35pm (local time) and arrives at Hong Kong International Airport at 6.20pm. The return flight takes off at 7.20pm and lands at 9.05pm.

On the same day, Vietjet and Air India also inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in New Delhi to provide aviation services between the two countries.

Under the MoU, the two airlines will offer direct flights connecting HCM City and New Delhi.

They will also jointly develop sale channels and implement bilateral tourism-trade activities, as well as share experiences and co-operate in training staffs.

“Air India’s aviation experience and capabilities will help Vietjet in having better access to India – a potential market with a young and dynamic population of more than 1.2 billion people,” said Vietjet vice president Dinh Viet Phuong.

“The co-operation will also contribute positively to a higher development of partnership in the economy, trade and tourism between Viet Nam and India,” he said. — VNS
