Vietjet will offer scholarships and charity gifts to 1,000 children who suffer from diseases and natural disasters and those who are of ethnic minorities in three provinces of Quang Nam, Thua Thien-Hue and Ninh Binh.

This donation follows "A cosy Tet for you 2021" programme to support disadvantaged children in rural areas announced by the airline and the Viet Nam Association for Protection of Child's Rights on Wednesday.

Vietjet has been cooperating with the association for four consecutive years to bring a cosy and loving Tet to thousands of disadvantaged children. Those at Vietjet wish to support and improve the living conditions of those children, helping to nurture their dreams for the sake of Viet Nam’s future generations.

The airline said it believes that not only its business operations but its charity activities, especially those concerning children and young people who are the future of the country as well as vulnerable people in society, will ultimately help build a better community.

Apart from this above-mentioned programme, Vietjet has also participated in several charity activities since its establishment, spreading the company’s culture of good life – good people to the community. This way of living, which is inspired by Vietjet’s President and CEO, Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao, has become part of the company employees’ daily lives.

Over the years, Thao and Vietjet employees have participated in many charity activities across the country seeking to build a better life for the people.

In 2020, Vietjet has given presents to Vietnamese veterans, families of war invalids and martyrs and children in remote areas.

The airline has also operated repatriation flights for Vietnamese citizens out of areas affected by the COVID-19 pandemic; offered free delivery of medical supplies and free tickets to health workers during the fight against the pandemic besides offering free tickets to officers and free transport of aid supplies to flooded areas in the central region. — VNS
