The cooking oil producer, Tuong An Vegetable Oil Joint-Stock Company, plans to provide 50,000 tonnes of cooking oil to the market for the Lunar New Year holiday.

The company said that the yield was up by 10 per cent over the same period last year to meet increasing demand and that the price would be stable during the holiday period.

This year, the company will launch new products for Tet. Two kinds of packages will be sold, which can be used as gifts for relatives and friends.

Tuong An is one of the biggest cooking producers in Viet Nam. Last year, it was acquired by the food producer KIDO Group.

In the first three quarters of 2017, the company’s revenue jumped by 6 per cent over the same period of the previous year, reaching over VND3 trillion (US$131 million).

The company predicts that for 2017, it will reach a profit of VND165 billion ($7.3 million), nearly doubling that of 2016.

It also plans to expand distribution in HCM City and in eastern provinces. — VNS
