Toyota grants $30,000 of scholarships


Toyota Viet Nam yesterday awarded 115 scholarships worth VND690 million (US$30,000) to excellent technical and environment students from universities nation-wide.

HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Toyota Viet Nam yesterday awarded 115 scholarships worth VND690 million (US$30,000) to excellent technical and environment students from universities nation-wide.

To mark its 20th anniversary in the country, Toyota this year increased each scholarship from VND4 million (nearly $200) to VND6 million (nearly $300).

The company also awarded one Hiace car and 15 technical equipment sets as teaching aids for 16 universities.

This was Toyota's 18th consecutive years granting scholarship for students, bringing the total number of scholarships to 1,879.

Speaking at the ceremony held in Vinh Phuc Toyota Vietnam President Yoshihisa Maruta, said: "We believe young talented students are valuable assets to enterprises and companies. They should try their best to improve their studies to become qualified human resources for the country's sustainable development." — VNS
