Viet Nam’s 10 architectural firms and property developers were honoured at the 2019 BCI Asia Awards given by Asia’s leading construction solution provider BCI in HCM City last week.

The awards, which encourage socially responsible architecture, serve as a platform for domestic and international networking for elite architecture firms, property developers, manufacturers and service providers.

The portfolios of these elite architecture firms contain nearly US$7.03 billion worth of properties scheduled to start construction in Viet Nam this year, while the portfolios of the top developers contain around $4.89 billion.

The winners are architecture and property developer firms with the greatest aggregate value of projects under construction during the last full calendar year, weighted by the extent of their sustainability efforts.

For architectural firms, pre-tender projects were included to recognise early incorporation of green design efforts.

The awards for BCI Asia Top 10 Architects for 2019 were given to Alinco Ltd, Archetype Viet Nam Ltd, Archivina Construction Technology Consultant & Investment JSC, Baumschlager Eberle Architekten, DAC - Vietnam Architectural Design and Consultancy Company, DP Consulting Co Ltd, GK Archi Co Ltd, Mai-Archi Co Ltd, NQH Architects Co Ltd, and PTW Vietnam Limited Company.

The BCI Asia Top 10 Developers for 2019 were awarded to Flamingo Group, FLC Group, Gamuda Land Vietnam, Hung Thinh Real Estate Business Investment Corporation, Phu Long Real Estates, Phu My Hung Development Corporation, Phuc Khang Corporation, Sun Group, TTC Land and Vingroup.

In addition, BCI Asia Awards included three green design awards, FuturArc Prize (FAP), FuturArc Green Leadership Award (FGLA), and Interior Design Award (IDA).

International professionals and students submitted their forward-thinking ideas in imagining a hyperdense city in the FAP competition. It was awarded to a group of four architects, Arnaud Jouanchicot, Thomas Combes, Paul Chevalier, and Bois Francois.

The FGLA award recognised teams behind green-built projects that have demonstrated the best in architectural innovation and environmental stewardship in the region. It was granted to the Castaway Island Resort Vietnam.

The IDA award honoured excellent interior architectural designs in seven countries. It was given to Liberty Hotel Quy Nhon.

Ceremonies for the 2019 BCI Asia Awards were also held in Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand. — VNS
