HCM CITY (Biz Hub) — The TOEFL program has announced that the TOEFL test has surpassed recognition by more than 9,000 institutions worldwide.

Last year, the figure was 8,000 institutions.

According to the Institute of International Education's Open Doors 2012 report, there was a 4.6 per cent increase in the number of Vietnamese students studying in the United States compared to the previous year.

As more and more students seek to study abroad, it is critical that higher education institutions have a comprehensive and consistent measure to assess applicants' English- language proficiency.

The TOEFL test is a global test used for both undergraduate and graduate admissions with recognition in more than 130 countries, including Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Canada, the United States and most countries in Asia and Europe. — VNS
