Mai Vu Minh, billionaire chairman of German company SAPA Thale group, will visit Serbia this month at the invitation of the country's Government.

Nguyen Dac Nghiep, the group’s CEO and German lawmaker, and other company executives will accompany him, according to the Serbian foreign ministry.

The delegation will meet First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic on June 5 and business executives in the following days.

The trip will take place within the framework of a bilateral investment co-operation programme between SAPA Thale group and the Serbian government and leading enterprises.

The potential areas for investment under the programme include finance - banking, technology, infrastructure, environment, energy, transportation, real estate, hotels - tourism, agriculture, and sports not only in Serbia, Viet Nam and Germany, but also in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Japan, China, the UAE and many other countries.

In 2017 Dacic paid a visit to Viet Nam when the two sides agreed to promote trade and economic co-operation and organise more business meetings.

He wished the two sides would actively exchange delegations at all levels, strengthen the co-operation between ministries, branches and localities, reinforce business connections, maintain and expand the traditional friendly relations between the peoples of the two countries.

A spokesperson for the group said trade between Viet Nam and Serbia is modest and the two countries need to enhance opportunities for exchanges and co-operation between their respective businesses. — VNS
