A month-long programme by Saigon Co.op to showcase and promote Vietnamese products has opened at its 800 outlets nationwide.
Dubbed “35 Years of Proud of Vietnamese Products,” the retailer’s biggest promotion of the year will run from August 29 to September 18 at its Co.opmart, Co.opXtra, Co.op Food, Co.op Smile, SenseMarket, Sense City, Cheers, and Finelife chains.
In addition to earmarking prime areas for displaying locally made products, they are, along with 600 business partners, offering discounts of 10-50 per cent on more than 3,500 products across all categories, a massive sales programme to celebrate National Day, a super discount programme on weekends, and others.
There are also a number of activities to promote Vietnamese goods in stores and online, including a “Flash sale of Vietnamese goods online” on September 8 and 9 with big discounts on cosmetics, foods and Co.op private label products.
A food festival to be organised weekly at Co.opmart and Co.opXtra across the country will offer customers the chance to try specialities from all over the country.
Nguyễn Ngọc Thắng, deputy general director of Saigon Co.op, said the programme is a highlight of Saigon Co.op’s strategy of backing Vietnamese goods.
“In the 35 years since its establishment, Saigon Co.op has always supported Vietnamese products through its policy of prioritising display and promotion of Vietnamese products and implementing programmes to stimulate their consumption. Saigon Co.op has also collaborated with partners to export Vietnamese goods and locally produced products to international markets.”
In contributing to the spread of Vietnamese goods, Saigon Co.op will officially put into operation Co.opmart Phạm Thế Hiển supermarket in District 8 on September 6 after opening for sale on August 28. — VNS
