Phu Nhuan Jewelry Joint Stock Company has gifted nearly VND850 million (US$36,600) worth of medical items such as masks, gloves, protective suits, disinfectants, essential medical equipment, and nutritious foods to localities in the central region where COVID-19 is raging.

The money was donated by the company’s managers and staff under its ‘Because We Care’ campaign.

During the first wave of the pandemic in March and April, PNJ had donated sterilising robots and medical equipment to major hospitals in HCM City.

The company said it considers corporate social responsibility activities an indispensable part of its sustainable development strategy.

It has been a pioneer in organising programmes to improve the lives of disadvantaged people and support poor students and patients, among other activities, it pointed out. — VNS
