Budget carrier VietJetAir will launch a new direct air route from the central city to Haneda, Japan with seven flights per week starting from Thursday.

A source from Da Nang International Airport Administration confirmed the flight to Viet Nam News on Monday, stating that the budget airline will operate the new route with the Airbus A321.

It said the first flight plans to land at Da Nang Airport on 6.45am on Thursday, and a ceremony will be held in the lobby of international terminal 2 (T2) on the day.

The flights will take five hours and 30 minutes between Da Nang and Haneda. The flight will take off from Da Nang at 6.10pm, and 2.30pm at Haneda.

The central city also hosted transit flights linking the Da Nang with Fukuoka, Sapporo and Sendai and Niigata, Japan.
