HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Austdoor Group has introduced its latest Austmatic Rolling Code (ARC) technology that prevents theft by generating a variety of authentication codes at fixed intervals to open electric rolling doors.

The debut of the new technology in the capital city on Monday made the company the first rolling door producer to use this kind of technology in Viet Nam.

ARC technology makes use of a built-in clock and factory-encoded random key, and is capable of generating billions of unrepeated codes. Each code is generated when a user presses the remote control to operate the door. After this, the code is automatically deleted and replaced by another random code.

"In today's technology-driven world, it is essential to ensure the security of products, including rolling doors," Austdoor Group Deputy General Director Duong Thach Nguyen said.

Tuoi Tre (the Youth) earlier reported that policemen in Ha Noi recently caught a suspected thief who had secretly obtained the authentication code for a rolling door.

With a cheap digital device that can be ordered on the Internet, Nguyen Thanh Duong, 25, from Son La Province, got the code while the owner was using the remote control to open the door. Last July 28, Duong succeeded in opening the door of Digiworld Hanoi on Hang Bai Street and stole goods worth about VND650 million (US$31,000).

Duong later admitted that he had bought a remote control and a device for stealing door codes from a Chinese national. To carry out the theft, Duong stood five meters from the shop and turned on his edevice while the owner was closing the door, according to the Hoan Kiem District Police Department.

The device detected the frequency and code of the door within three seconds. Duong then copied the code for later use.

Nguyen advised customers to choose renowned brands of rolling doors with advanced confidential technologies to prevent the theft of goods worth millions of dong.

Austdoor entered the Vietnamese market in 2003 and currently accounts for 40 per cent of the country's rolling door market. — VNS
