Manulife Vietnam and Cong Dong Bau have joined hands to gift life insurance policies to maternity hospital doctors across the country as part of a new community giving initiative to show gratitude to them for providing support to some of the most vulnerable people during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Ceremonies to gift them will take place in a number of hospitals across the country, including Tu Du Hospital in HCM City, Ha Noi Obstetrics & Gynaecology Hospital, the Da Nang Obstetrics & Gynaecology Hospital, and Can Tho Maternity Hospital.

Presenting the first offer at Tu Du hospital, Hoe Shin Koh, chief partnership distribution officer at Manulife Vietnam, said, “Doctors are putting their lives at risk to protect the community, and work round the clock in Viet Nam’s maternity hospitals to make sure every pregnant mother receives the support they need to give birth safely.

“Manulife Vietnam’s gesture … is our way of saying thanks and offering peace of mind so that maternity doctors can focus on the important task at hand – delivering Viet Nam’s next generation of children.”

The company will provide doctors in select maternity hospitals with a one-year Khoi Dau Bao Ve policy, and it will be offered at a special rate to their colleagues.

Khoi Dau Bao Ve is an online insurance product offering a mix of life insurance, accidental injuries, medical and hospital benefits.

The CEO of Tu Du, Dr Le Quang Thanh said: “Each year our staff help deliver around 70,000 babies. This practical gift gives our healthcare workers the confidence to do their jobs … efficiently knowing they are protected should anything happen.”

Truong Thuy Thu Quynh, general director of Cong Dong Bau, said the campaign not only offers a sense of assurance to doctors involved in the fight against COVID-19 but also benefits the mothers and children they support. — VNS
