Lumi Vietnam, a smart home and IoT device manufacturer, has inaugurated its state-of-the-art factory in the northern province of Vĩnh Phúc.
With an investment capital of over VNĐ100 billion (approximately US$4 million), the 6,000sq.m facility in Thăng Long 3 industrial park is the country's first large-scale and high-tech Vietnamese manufacturing plant for IoT and smart home devices.
In addition to producing devices for Lumi Vietnam, Lumi Smart Factory aims to expand its business by manufacturing products for domestic and international partners.
The company, which started in a small rented room in 2000, has grown significantly and currently has over 150 distributors across all provinces and cities in Việt Nam, said Nguyễn Tuấn Anh, Lumi’s Chairman.
He added Lumi was the first Vietnamese smart home brand to export to foreign markets including Israel, Thailand, India and Lebanon.
Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Bùi Thế Duy highlighted that the ministry has been actively supporting tech firms like Lumi by facilitating their connections with investment funds and markets, providing assistance with intellectual property registration and protection, and offering strategic guidance. Additionally, the ministry aims to help Lumi establish connections with the network of Vietnamese representatives in the field abroad, further expanding their opportunities and reach.
The factory, built to Japanese standards, has the capacity to produce one million smart home devices, 500,000 smart lighting devices, and millions of other IoT devices annually. — VNS
