Loc Troi Agricultural Products, a subsidiary of Loc Troi Group, has signed an agreement with the Thoai Son Union of Cooperatives in An Giang Province under which the latter’s members will grow two million tonnes of rice for the company.
It also donated 123 combine harvesters, ploughing machines, rice threshers, and straw roll machines worth more than VND100 billion (US$4.39 million) to farmers in the province at a ceremony late last week.
They are donated by its partners to promote mechanisation and large-scale farming to improve efficiency and provide long-term benefits to farmers.
Huynh Van Thon, chairman of Loc Troi Group, said, “Loc Troi and members in its agro eco-system will constantly strive to link up with farmers through co-operatives to improve the efficiency of large-scale rice production through mechanisation.
“We believe that farmers can still have a prosperous life by growing rice." — VNS
