La Vie Limited Liability has stopped using plastic cap seals on all of La Vie natural mineral water products to reduce the volume of plastic waste.
The action, which began late last month, was preceded by an event in late June when La Vie and eight companies launched the coalition Packaging Recycling Organization Vietnam (PRO Vietnam).
This is La Vie’s first action in its long-term commitment to recycling, the company said.
In May 2018, La Vie began removing cap seals from 350ml bottles, receiving positive feedback from consumers. Starting last month, the practice was applied to all La Vie natural mineral water products, including La Vie Kid 330ml, La Vie 350ml, La Vie Premium 400ml, La Vie 500ml, La Vie Sport Cap 750ml, La Vie 1.5L and La Vie 6L.
The use of plastic cap seals on bottled water is a common practice among manufacturers in Việt Nam. Stopping the usage is an important step to help reduce plastic waste in the environment.
The change does not affect the La Vie’s product quality.
As a member of Nestlé Waters, La Vie has committed to use 100 per cent recyclable and reusable packaging by 2025, aiming at a future without trash, the company said in its press release. — VNS
