Korean investor to build another $177 million factory in Đà Nẵng

Korean implant producer Dentium has received an investment certificate to develop its third plant, ICT Vina III, at Đà Nẵng Hi-Tech Park with a US$177 million investment.

The head of the Đà Nẵng Hi-tech Park and Industrial Zones Authority (Đà Nẵng HPIZA), Vũ Quang Hùng, said the project is seen as one of the key elements in the park’s investment promotion plan 2020-25 and its Master Plan to 2030.

Hùng highly appreciated the efforts by the Korean investors in speeding up procedures and preparations to keep to the planning schedule.

He said the successful story of Dentium company would help promote the effectiveness of the park and have a positive impact on other potential investors into Đà Nẵng.

Deputy director of ICT Vina and representative of the Korean Dentium company, Hwang Sung Il said the third ICT VINA has followed the two previous successful invested plants in 2018 and 2020.

He said the company debuted the first factory with an investment of $20 million in 2018, before building the second plant with $60 million capital in 2020.

That brings to the total the Dentium company has invested in the three factories at the park to $257 million.

“We commit to completing the construction of the third factory soon and hope to attract more domestic and international experts in hi-tech industries to the city, contributing to technical capability improvement and science research as well,” Hwang Sung Il said.

The managing board of the Đà Nẵng HPIZA reported that it has granted investment certificates to four projects including two FDI projects worth $178.5 million and two domestic investors with VNĐ810 billion ($32.4 million).

ICT VINA factories were designed for manufacturing implant products, CT scanners and computer aided design (CAD) and computer aided manufacture (CAM) scanners, which will be used in healthcare services.

Đà Nẵng HPIZA reported 521 projects across six industrial zones, the Hi-Tech Park, and the IT Park, including 396 domestic projects worth VNĐ33.876 trillion ($1.35 billion) and 125 FDI projects totalling over $2.2 billion. — VNS
