International express delivery company J&T Express has donated equipment to a school in the mountainous district of Ba To in Quang Ngai Province to help disadvantaged students learn online.
The donation to the Ba Le Primary and Secondary School includes 29 smartphones to teachers and 270 gifts consisting of notebooks and pens.
The company also donate 100 Masscom tablets to disadvantaged students through the provincial Department of Education and Training.
The donation was worth more than VND400 million (US$17,641).
Phan Binh, J&T Express Vietnam’s brand director, said: “Through this special gift, we hope to help Quang Ngai students access knowledge and make their Vietnamese Teachers Day more meaningful.”
Tran Thi Kim Nhan of the central province’s Department of Education and Training, said: “We appreciate the gifts J&T Express gave to Ba Le teachers and students because it is a school with many difficulties and needs the support of sponsors."
Nguyen Mau Hai, the school principal, appreciated the donation, saying it would make teaching and learning “more effective.” — VNS
