Low-cost carrier Jetstar Pacific will increase the number of return flights between Da Nang and Taipei from three to five per week from October 31.

The airline said it would operate return flights on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday on 180-seat Airbus A320s. The flights will take off from Da Nang International Airport at 11am, while the return will depart from Taipei at 3.40pm, with travel time of two hours and 35 minutes. It said the cheapest one-way promotion tickets would be VND280,000 (US$12.4).

Jetstar said the decision aimed to boost tourism and business trips between Da Nang and Taiwan to meet the rising demand for low-cost travel between the two locations. According to the Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism, more than 600,000 tourists from Taiwan visited Viet Nam last year, while nearly 400,000 Vietnamese travelers took trips to Taiwan.
