BINH DUONG (VNS) — The Viet Nam Singapore Industrial Park (VSIP) Management Board, the VSIP Trade Union and VSIP Joint Venture Company last week raised US$40,000 at its 12th charity day for disadvantaged people.

The two-day event, which includes a fun fair, charity walk, traditional games and art performances, was attended by local government officials and management and staff of the 300 operating tenants of VSIP.

All proceeds will be donated to groups that the VSIP Charity Fund supports, such as the VSIP Community Clinic in Tan Uyen District that offers free healthcare consultations.

It will be also used to award scholarships to workers' children and build homes for the disadvantaged.

"All VSIP charitable activities would be impossible without the generous support from tenants, business partners, workers and staff. The charity fund will be spent in the most effective and appropriate manner," said Anthony Tan, deputy general director of the VSIP JV Company.

For 12 years, the VSIP Charity Day has fulfilled its mission to become an annual playground for thousands of workers, while also creating a VSIP Charity Fund as a reliable platform for hundreds of tenants to offer donations.— VNS
