FLC Group on Monday opened its first representative office in Japan, becoming one of the first Vietnamese real estate firms expanding operations to the international market.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Trinh Van Quyet, FLC’s chairman of the management board, said the representative office would be an information bridge to help FLC and its Japanese partners search for investment opportunities and promote transactions in the sectors of real estate, hi-tech agriculture and labourer exports.

“Japan has been always a country which has many things for us to learn about. It is the reason that we decided to choose Japan as our strategic market in foreign countries,” Quyet said.

Nguyen Quoc Cuong, Viet Nam’s ambassador to Japan, said FLC had been one of the leading property groups in Viet Nam with diversified activities in many sectors. Its projects had contributed to the socio-economic development in coastal localities.

“The establishment of the representative office in Japan – one of the biggest markets in Asia, has proved for rapid and strong development of Vietnamese private businesses. Viet Namese Embassy to Japan would help Vietnamese firms in expanding their operations to international markets,” Cuong added.

Former Japan’s ambassador to Viet Nam, Norio Hattori, will take charge of FLC’s representative office in Tokyo’s Marunouchi District – a centre for many economic reforms in Japan.

He committed to promoting the office’s development in Japan.

After the event, the FLC leaders had meetings with many important partners in the fields of healthcare and agriculture in Japan.

They made a visit to Farmdo – a hi-tech agricultural farm, and real estate company, Mitsubishi.

FLC expected to have more co-operation and expansion in the investment network of the Viet Nam – Japan business community, thus contributing to the relationship between the two countries.

The group has implemented different activities to introduce Viet Nam’s tourism sector to the international market.

It organised a roadshow in Japan in September to introduce Viet Nam’s resort property potential in Tokyo. It also had meetings with many Japanese partners in the sectors of real estate, tourism, golf and human resources at the Vietnamese fair in Kanagawa in the same month.
