Van Don International Airport on Thursday received its first flight from the Republic of Korea, bringing more than 180 passengers to the northern province of Quang Ninh.
The charter flight, conducted by Vietnam Airlines, departed Incheon Airport at 21:30 on Wednesday and arrived at Van Don Airport at 1:45 on Thursday.
All passengers on the flight were presented with free bus tickets and tickets to UNESCO-recognised Natural Heritage Ha Long Bay and Yen Tu special national relic site.
This is the second international flight to Van Don Airport. The first one was flight from Baoan airport in Chinas Shenzhen.
The airport will link Van Don with China's Taiwan, Hainan, Nanning and Guangzhou in June, and Japan and Thailands Bangkok later this year. — VNS
