The Netherlands’s Vice Minister for Foreign Economic Relations, Hanneke Schuiling, has appreciated the role of FrieslandCampina Viet Nam dairy company in providing high-quality and nutritious dairy products to Vietnamese consumers for the last 25 years.
On April 26 she visited the company’s milk factory in Binh Duong Province which makes brands such as Dutch Lady, Friso, Fristi, and Yomost.
The expansion of the company was a testament to the ever-growing bilateral relations between Viet Nam and Netherlands, she said.
In recent years economic, trade and investment co-operation between the two countries had been growing consistently and the Netherlands had been one of the largest European investors in Viet Nam.
Over the last 25 years FrieslandCampina Viet Nam had provided nutrition to Vietnamese children, improved the lives of people, especially farmers, through a dairy development programme and an effective and successful community assistance model and protected the environment.
Its efforts and contributions had not only brought about positive business outcomes but also fetched high-profile awards.
She praised the company's achievements and hoped it would continue to provide valuable nutrition to Vietnamese people.
Richard Kiger, the company’s managing director, said: “We see Vietnam as a key market due to its young population and strong demand for nutritious products.”
The company has two factories in Binh Duong and the northern province of Ha Nam that process milk and other dairy products.
FrieslandCampina operates in 34 countries with more than 18,645 member farmers and supplies around 30,000 tonnes of milk every day.
Schuiling was in Viet Nam on April 25-26 to promote bilateral co-operation in the areas of agriculture, water, logistics, energy, and high-tech. — VNS
