CNS inks deal with Dutch chip firm to make cards

Sai Gon Industry Corporation (CNS) on Wednesday signed a deal with NXP Semiconductors to distribute security card solutions and card readers in the Vietnamese market.

They will jointly develop, using the Dutch company’s chips, the security card solutions to be used in smart cities and smart government projects like e-passports, e-identity cards and bank cards.

CNS said the cards would be first launched in HCM City.

The State-owned company has 20 subsidiaries and five plants that employ over 5,000 workers. — VNS
