HCM CITY (Biz Hub) – The HCM City-based Medic Medical Center has installed Siemens' latest IT solution, Aptio Automation, the first to do so in Southeast Asia.

The US$1 million product offers a unified solution as workloads increase and resources decrease.

In diagnostics, productivity and workflow are vital, with the number of tests that can be performed at a given time having a direct correlation with costs.

Increasingly, clinical laboratories are turning to automation.

"We chose Aptio Automation because it not only handles increasing daily workloads in the laboratory but also enables us to improve the turnaround time," Dr Nguyen Thanh Tong, deputy director of Medic, said.

"Further, the system footprint is small, which helps save on operation costs."

The medical centre was set up in 1990 and has imaging diagnostics, laboratory, pathology, and other departments, which serve around 4,000 clients from HCM City, Mekong Delta provinces, and even from Cambodia daily and do thousands of tests. – VNS
