Bac Giang pledges support for enterprises

BAC GIANG (Biz Hub) — Northern Bac Giang Province will create the most favourable conditions for both local and foreign enterprises operating there, Nguyen Van Linh, chairman of the provincial People's Committee, told a meeting with 140 small- and medium-sized enterprises last week.

He called on the enterprises to follow market, value, supply and demand, and competitive principles.

At the meeting, enterprises raised their difficulties, as well as recommendations to facilitate future activities.

In the first six months of the year, Bac Giang attracted 84 projects, of which 59 were domestic, with a total investment capital of VND9.3 trillion (US$409 million), and 25 foreign projects, registering a combined capital of $226 million.

Forty-three projects in the province went into operation, providing jobs for 9,500 labourers. There are 428 newly-registered businesses and representative offices, up 47 per cent.

As of now, the province has a total of 5,220 registered enterprises with a total capital of VND28.7 trillion ($1.27 billion). — VNS
