AstraZeneca Vietnam is supporting organisations and hospitals to raise awareness and the treatment of breast cancer in the community.

Atul Tandon, general director of AstraZeneca Vietnam, said that for 30 years, the company has pursued innovative ways to empower healthcare professionals with the latest advances in breast cancer treatment in Việt Nam.

“To move towards a future where breast cancer is no longer a cause of death, collaboration, awareness raising, and action against this disease are prerequisites," Tandon said.

The programmes in the company’s funding plan will contribute to the goal of improving community health and expanding access to information on prevention and treatment for patients.

“Through this support, patients will have a better chance of overcoming the disease and living a healthier life,” Tandon said.

The company has supported the Cancer and Breast Cancer Prevention Communication Programme, along with the Breast Cancer Screening and Communication Programme organised by Khánh Hòa Provincial Oncology Hospital in collaboration with the Việt Nam Women's Union.

It not only provides free screening opportunities for hundreds of women but also helps them, their families and the community better understand the importance of prevention, screening, and early detection of cancer in women.

It supports the Bright Tomorrow Fund to organise the 2024 Breast Cancer Patient Forum to connect and improve knowledge for breast cancer patients, creating opportunities to share experiences and support each other in the cancer patient community.

It also helps Breast Cancer Patient Club activities at Đà Nẵng Oncology Hospital and HCM City Oncology Hospital, providing patients medical information on care and treatment, and contributing to improving the quality of treatment at the hospital.
