Alibaba.com in collaboration with the Việt Nam Trade Promotion Agency (Vietrade) under the Ministry of Industry and Trade organised the finale of the E-commerce Leadership Awards (KEL Awards) to honour the most outstanding e-commerce companies.

The event on Tuesday in Hà Nội showcased the remarkable talents of six top finalists, each delivering insightful presentations that highlighted their achievements and the strategies that fueled their success on the Alibaba.com platform. This event is part of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Vietrade and Alibaba.com, reaffirming Alibaba.com's commitment to promoting the development of e-commerce in Việt Nam.

The competition concluded with the selection of all six finalists as Alibaba.com Việt Nam ambassadors for 2024. They will represent Việt Nam in the KEL Awards Regional Finale, set to take place later this year.

Head of Vietnam Business at Alibaba.com, Mike Zhang, said: “The Việt Nam KEL Awards are a testament to the entrepreneurial excellence present in this country.

"We are proud to provide a platform where sellers can showcase their success and gain recognition on a regional stage. This event is not merely a competition but a celebration of the ingenuity and resilience of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that are pushing the boundaries of global trade.

"Through this initiative, we hope to inspire and help even more Vietnamese SMEs seize opportunities in the global marketplace.”

The Alibaba.com KEL Awards aim to gather top-notch suppliers from across the Southeast Asia region to foster mutual learning and engagements, while also providing a unique opportunity for participants to amplify their influence within Alibaba.com’s global community of buyers and suppliers.

With more than 250 global sellers participating, the awards set the stage for Vietnamese SMEs to shine.

Deputy Director of the Trade Promotion Agency Hoàng Minh Chiến, said: “This is an activity within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Vietrade and the Alibaba.com e-commerce platform to search for and honour talented exporters in Việt Nam.

"We hope to build a strong community of online export sellers who can support, share and learn together to develop. The program is also an opportunity for Vietnamese businesses to spread their voices and make Vietnamese brands shine globally to attract international customers and boost business efficiency.”
