HCM CITY (Biz Hub) — French supermarket chain Big C has chosen 12 community projects to implement this year under its "Big Community" contest, which has received a total of 42 entries.

Designed for Big C staff, the contest aims to encourage them to draw up community projects to improve the lives of disadvantaged children under six years of age.

The supermarket will give a total of VND420 million (US$19,778) for the 12 projects. Projects are expected to be completed within two months.

The projects include the building of a kitchen at a pre-school in Can Tho, upgrading classrooms at a primary school in Long An Province's Thanh Hoa Distrist, and providing learning and medical equipment to a preschool in Quang Nam Province.

In the last three years, 29 community projects have been implemented. — VNS
