HCM CITY (Biz Hub) — GE Capital Aviation Services (GECAS) and VietJet have inked an aircraft sale-and-leaseback agreement for two Airbus A320 aircraft.

The aircraft are part of VietJet's order sent to Airbus in February this year for 100 Airbus aircraft to be delivered from 2014 to 2018. This purchase agreement has made great progress with BNP Paribas (France) acting as financial adviser to VietJet.

With this agreement in place, Airbus will deliver the next two Airbus A320 aircraft to VietJet in November and December this year, enabling the new-age carrier to advance its expansion plan accordingly.

Currently one of the fastest growing airlines in Asia, VietJet recently added two direct international routes connecting Da Nang and Ha Noi to Incheon International airport (Seoul) in South Korea. The airline also operates an extensive domestic network as well as direct flights from HCM City to Bangkok and Singapore.

GECAS is one of the world's leading commercial aircraft and engine lessors and lenders, supplying more than 1,600 aircraft to more than 230 airlines all over the world. —VNS
