HA NOI (Biz Hub)- Sixteen companies in Viet Nam will compete for two spots in the Koma Taisen World Championship, to be held in Yokohama City, Japan, on February 15, 2015.

The preliminary in Ha Noi will be organised during the Reed Tradex Co's Vietnam Manufacturing Expo 2014, which will commence on August 27 in the capital. Meanwhile, another preliminary will take place in HCM City in October.

The Koma Taisen was started in 2011 to help the Japanese small and medium-sized enterprises that encounter business difficulties, said Kazuhiro Funabashi, head of Koma Taisen management office in Ha Noi, during an event held yesterday to launch the competition in the capital.

The competition has been held on a large scale in many regions and nationally also, he said, adding that besides Japan and Viet Nam, the first world championship will attract the participation of teams from Bolivia, Indonesia and Thailand.

The specification of the Koma (spintop) is that its diameter should be less than 20 millimetres. Two Koma will spin at the same time in the ring. The last Koma to continue spinning in the ring is declared the winner. A participant loses if his or her Koma goes out of the ring. The game ends if a participant wins twice in a row. — VNS
