HCM CITY (Biz Hub) – Japanese camera maker Canon on April 19 opened its first Canon Photo Studio in Viet Nam at Vietopia edutainment centre in District 7, HCM City, to help and inspire children to develop their creativity.

The studio, equipped with the company's latest imaging technologies, will help nurture a love of photography in kids through professional trainers trained by Canon.

It hopes that through a camera viewfinder kids will learn to see the world in different way, experiencing normal things in life from a fresh perspective and feeling more confident in their own creativity.

The studio is part of the company's commitment to promote a culture of photography in Viet Nam.

"We are always interested in and enthusiastic about helping Viet Nam's future generations to extend their sense of ambition," Nick Yoshida, president and CEO of Canon Marketing Viet Nam, said.

"Canon's goal is to provide a platform for people of all ages and backgrounds to express themselves with the power of photography."

Vietopia, which officially opened on the same day, is Asia's largest edutainment centre.

Built at a cost of US$25 million, the 30,000sq.m, Vietopia is designed like a city with a hospital, airport, banks, and supermarket.

It offers children from four a chance to try 70 different jobs.

It can serve 3,500 kids per day.

In three months since it made a soft opening, the centre has welcomed over 25,000 visitors. — VNS
