Moc Bai to invest $11.6 million in agricultural project

TAY NINH (Biz Hub) — The Viet Nam Moc Bai Joint Stock Company will set aside more than VND261 billion (US$11.6 million) for the development of a hi-tech agricultural project in Tay Ninh, tayninh.gov.vn reported.

The company is part of the Taekwang Group of South Korea.

From 2015 to 2018, the company will develop a fruit and vegetable cultivation area in line with VietGap standards, which can produce 25 to 28 tonnes per crop. Hi-quality cattle and poultry farms will also be built in the southeastern province.

The project is expected to create jobs for 100 local labourers. The products will be consumed in both domestic and foreign markets.

According to the website, vice chairman of the provincial People's Committee Nguyen Manh Hung has approved in principal for the company to lease 29.5ha in Duong Minh Chau District to develop the project.

Early this year, the company launched the construction of a 100ha garment and textile industrial zone, also in An Thanh Commune, the online-newspaper notes.— VNS
