Horasis Asia Meeting has built its prestige around the world as an international investment forum providing a comprehensive view of the success of the Asian economy.
With hundreds of guests from international organisations, the forum’s meetings and dialogues with leading speakers help connect investors from multinational corporations and other markets to the Vietnamese market.
As the conference host, Binh Duong has a chance to enhance its image as a commercial hub in front of many international partners and investors. With participation of the top leaders across Asia, the event is a strong platform for the province to strengthen its solid competitive edge. Opportunities to promote trade are huge, and Binh Duong can leverage further on this big international event to stimulate investment.
Recently, we’ve seen a rising trend of protectionism and nationalism in the world, but it’s important to note that regional and global issues can’t be resolved by one single country or company. Horasis Asia provides a platform for country and business leaders to work together to resolve regional and global issues collaboratively and effectively.
We’ve just celebrated ASEAN’s 50th anniversary of unity, so the forum is a great way to send a message to the world that ASEAN is working together to drive growth and prosperity in the region.
Viet Nam, as the host of the event, is the rising star of ASEAN and a great example of how success was created by opening up its economy and integrating into the region and the world. I hope that the principle of connecting and collaborating will drive ASEAN to the next level. Together we thrive.

It’s great that the Horasis Asia meeting is being held in Viet Nam this year. While I know many of my fellow attendees, this is a good opportunity to meet new people and showcase Viet Nam’s development. This in turn could lead to future investment in Viet Nam.
Viet Nam’s macroeconomic conditions remain strong: GDP growth is targeted for 6.6 per cent in 2019; inflation is under control; manufacturing is expanding; and foreign investment continues to flow into the country.
Although the stock market doesn’t reflect it, Viet Nam has one of the most vibrant economies in the world, and the investment opportunities here continue to be abundant.
Horasis gives me the chance to share ideas and experiences with people from other parts of the region and world. In many instances, the relationships have led to business partnerships.
VinaCapital is celebrating its 15thanniversary this year, and I’m proud of what we’ve achieved. Foreign investors’ interest in Viet Nam continues to rise: we had a record attendance at our annual conference this year.
But I’m even more excited by what the future holds. The investment environment has come a long way since 2003, and VinaCapital is evolving in terms of the products we offer to investors so that we can continue to play a role in the country’s continuing economic transformation.
