HA NOI (Biz Hub) ― Vietcombank and the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) have signed an agreement to support small- and medium-sized Japanese enterprises doing business or wanting to invest in Viet Nam.

Vietcombank deputy general director Pham Quang Dung said the bank would establish a specialised unit, Japan Desk, to provide services to those businesses, in collaboration with JBIC and Japanese regional banks.

Japan Desk would offer consultancy about the Vietnamese business and investment environment, potential partners, industry experts, banking products and other financial packages.

Tokyo-based JBIC is a policy bank wholly owned by the Japanese government. Its role is to foster national efforts in international economic development, in addition to assisting enterprises and other financial institutions in overseas markets. ― VNS
