HA NOI (Biz Hub) — The Standard Chartered Bank on Tuesday appointed Lyn Kok as the new chief executive officer (CEO) for the Greater Mekong sub-region.
Lyn will also continue in her role as President and CEO for Thailand.
The Greater Mekong region comprises Viet Nam, Thailand, Myanmar, Laos and Cambodia. The first two nations are two largest markets for the bank here.
In her new capacity, she will work closely with the CEO for Viet Nam Nirukt Sapru to leverage cross-border opportunities.
Lim Cheng Teck, regional CEO for ASEAN, said, "The potential of the Greater Mekong region is huge. By aligning our business operations in those markets under the Greater Mekong umbrella, we will be able to offer our clients who are doing business there targeted, region-specific financial insights and enhanced services."
Lyn was appointed to the positions in Thailand in July 2010. Prior to that, she was managing director, country head of strategy and corporate development for the bank in China.
She is currently a member of the Standard Chartered executive leadership team. — VNS
