HA NOI (Biz Hub) — The State Bank of Viet Nam has issued a banknote worth 100 dong to commemorate its 65th anniversary on May 6.

The commemorative banknote has no payment value. It aims to recognise the outstanding developments of the banking sector and promote the image of the country internationally.

The banknote will be presented to guests invited to the sector's anniversary.

A representative of the central bank said the cost of implementing the design of this type of banknote has been covered by companies with the most advanced technology in the world.

The front of the banknote features the portrait of late President Ho Chi Minh, the nominal value of 100 dong in both numbers and letters, the image of the coat of arms and the SBV governor's signature.

The back of the note depicts the SBV headquarters, Thanh Giong (Saint Giong) and the Ngoc Lu bronze drum.

This is the second time the SBV has issued a commemorative note. In 2001, the bank issued a banknote worth 50 đồng to commemorate its 50th anniversary. — VNS
