HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Sacombank and military-run telecom corporation Viettel will boost comprehensive co-operation, under an agreement signed on August 12.
Sacombank will offer Viettel and its staff preferential loan packages, provide the company's business partners with payment services via mobile phones, besides sponsoring the firm's agents and installing point-of-sale machines at its stores.
The company will supply post, dispatch, telecommunications and air ticket services to the bank. It will also give the bank solutions to implement information technology projects.
"As the largest telecommunications and information technology group in Viet Nam, Viettel is a suitable and potential partner for our long-term co-operation projects," said Sacombank General Director Phan Huy Khang.
"I believe that this collaboration will help introduce diversified products convenient for customers and help foster our sustained development," he added.
Viettel General Director Tong Viet Trung told news website dantri.com.vn that, as both sides have extensive networks, especially in remote areas, they can together develop projects assisting farmers and small traders.
According to the website, Sacombank has 427 transaction points nationwide and in Laos and Cambodia. Viettel has 68 million mobile subscribers at home and abroad, with over 50,000 broadcasting stations and about 180,000 kilometres of fibre optic cables. — VNS
