The State Bank of Viet Nam set the reference VND/USD exchange rate at VND22,154 per US dollar on December 21, up VND6 from the day before.

This is the highest rate since the beginning of this year.

With the current +/- 3 percent VND/USD trading band, the ceiling exchange rate is VND22,818 per dollar and the floor rate is VND21,490 per dollar.

In the opening hour, Vietcombank listed the buying rate at VND22,720 per dollar and the selling rate at VND22,790 per dollar, both up VND5.

BIDV offered the buying rate at VND22,715 per dollar and the selling rate at VND22,785 per dollar, both down VND5.

In Vietinbank, the buying rate was listed at VND22,730 per dollar, up VND20, while the selling rate was VND22,800 per dollar, up VND10 from the previous day.

Eximbank bought one dollar for VND22,700 and sold one dollar for VND22,800, unchanged from December 20. — VNS
